Bringing individual performers together into a cohesive entertainment program takes more than a microphone and a running order.

Stacey has decades of experience as a professional musician, MC and live event host, including years running some of Melbourne’s established open mic nights.

He works with performers ahead of the event to understand their experience, repertoire and technical needs, then shapes the line-up and manages the hosting, sound, transitions and energy of the night.

The result is a professionally delivered live showcase that gives performers the opportunity to do what they love and colleagues the chance to see an entirely different side of the people they work with.

About Stacey Pommer

Stacey Pommer is a professional musician, MC, open mic host and live event facilitator with decades of experience performing, hosting and managing live rooms. He has hosted weekly open mic events at The Espy, regular events at The Vineyard and other live performance nights across Melbourne.

He understands what makes performers feel prepared, what keeps an audience engaged, and how to hold the shape of an event so it feels polished rather than chaotic.

Questions before we talk.

Is this Karaoke?

No. Participants perform – they do not sing along to recorded tracks. Performances can include music, comedy, spoken word, storytelling, poetry or similar creative performances.

Do performers need experience?

They do not need formal stage experience but they do need enough ability and preparation to participate as part of the entertainment. This is a showcase for real performers and creatives, supported by professional facilitation.

Can this work at conferences and retreats?

Yes. The format is designed for conferences, leadership retreats, team events, member events and corporate celebrations.

Do you provide sound equipment?

Sound and backline requirements can be arranged depending on the event, venue and performer needs.

Where are you based and what areas do you service?

Stacey is based in St Kilda and works across Greater Melbourne and Victoria. Interstate events may be arranged by request, with travel and accommodation quoted separately where required.

How do we find the performers, and what happens next?

Organisations typically invite staff to express their interest in performing, whether that’s music, comedy, storytelling or another live performancStacey then works with the nominated participants to understand their experience, what they’d like to perform and what they’ll need on the night. From there, he develops the line-up, coordinates performance requirements and hosts the event.
It’s designed to showcase existing creative ability, rather than asking people to learn something new or perform outside their comfort zone.
